The program provides an outlet for circus performers looking for a way to direct their talent toward a social objective and for social workers wanting to incorporate the circus arts into their work with young people.
The circus arts are synonymous with core values such as risk, imagination, solidarity and confidence. They entertain, enchant and instill wonder, in addition to being an excellent alternative educational tool for youth.
Created in 1993, the Cirque du Monde program has now been implemented in 34 communities around the world. True laboratories of personal artistic expression and group solidarity, the circus workshops are an opportunity for marginalized young people to forge new ties with society.
